RealTrack App
Project Overview
The RealTrack app is part of a strategic partnership with Apple focused on accelerating the design of best in class industrial applications for iOS.
My Role
As the lead UX visual designer for GE's Digital Innovation team on this project, I worked closely with our interaction designer to conduct in user interviews and understand a day in the life of our users, so we could identify and solve their pain points.
Our users work on extremely complicated manufacturing projects, with many team members and phases. Some projects can span up to 2 years in length.
They needed a more streamlined way to communicate amongst their teams on the go. Working closely with our users, we designed a mobile application that integrates with their enterprise project management tool. Our app gives them quick access to all the information the need & enables streamlined communication between multiple project teams.
We spent a week at Apple's Enterprise Design Lab with our users, the GE UX team, and Apple's design & technology experts.
It was extremely effective in accelerating the process of building this application. It also strengthened our relationship with our users & product teams.
At the end, we had several fully fleshed-out screens and a functioning Xcode prototype.
Best of all, our users felt personally invested in the product and were impressed seeing the UX design process in action.
